Fly to Ireland’s top golf resort and visit Firstlight in 2012

HOLIDAYS TO IRELAND have never been more popular and we could see a lot more visitors to our emerald shores in 2012, I’m delighted to say!

Emirates will now fly to Ireland daily from the UAE

In the same week that one of the world’s best airlines announced they will introduce a new daily flight to Dublin – Emirates will fly to Ireland from January 9th 2012 – it was announced that tourism figures increased in 2011.

In a glitzy gala bash at The Convention Centre for over 800 guests, Emirates airlines announced it was staggered by the huge interest in its new route for 2012 and put it down to both the UAE and Ireland’s shared interest in horses!

Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales Worldwide, said: “We have not witnessed this level of bookings, nor such strong interest in a new route, for many years. This gives us huge confidence in Ireland and the figures support the commercial research that precedes any decision we take to launch a new service.”

He added: “There are already strong levels of trade and tourism activity between Ireland and the UAE, not to mention the important equine affiliations. With its rich cultural heritage and reputation for hospitality, we think that Emirates will have a role to play in encouraging inward tourism to Ireland.”

Whether it's horse-riding, fishing or country walking, you'll find it all in Kildare if you're a resident at Firstlight The K Club

County Kildare is Ireland’s most well known region for horse-racing – the Irish National Hunt being just one of the very many festivals we have. And with more horse-lovers set to head to Ireland next year we could also see more overseas visitors looking for permanent holiday homes in 2012.

Tourism set to rise

And in a boost to the Irish economy this week, Tourism Ireland noted that State visits from The Queen and Barack Obama were key factors that led to the 7% rise in visits to the Emerald Isle this year.

The organisation said that by the end of 2011 it expects 7.4million people will have visited Ireland from overseas. “This will generate an estimated €3.4billion in revenue,” it added. “Eleven per cent more than the previous year.”

Here at Firstlight The K Club, the private residence club at Ireland’s top golf resort, we hope you might be one of the many visitors we hope to welcome in 2012.
