Six Nations rugby fever takes over Dublin

AFTER LAST year’s Six Nations we hosted some of Ireland’s rugby boys here at The K Club during the golf tournaments for the special charities they support.

The boys are always in fighting good spirit and I’m sure it will be no different on Sunday when they run out in front of a crowd of 50,000 in Dublin for their opening match against Wales.

Six Nations Captain for Ireland, Paul O’Connell has admitted that this first game of the 2012 tournament will be a “massive” one, but he’s up for the challenge of Ireland’s crucial game Ireland’s capital.

He told BBC Sport that Wales should be warned that Ireland is determined to erase from memory their defeat in the World Cup quarter finals last year. Wales knocked them out in Wellington, New Zealand, in October.

“That was certainly a big disappointment and hopefully we can put it right next weekend,” O’Connell said. “There is going to be no warming into it, it will be a very tough game.” Read the full story here at the BBC.

Keith Earls will replace injured Brian O’Driscoll as number 13 in Ireland’s first Six Nations game, and Ireland coach Declan Kidney says the birth of Earls’ new baby daughter will keep him buzzing!

From all of us at Firstlight The K Club, we wish our boys well!
